  • Applying the ‘3 Ds’ which are…
    • - Determining what (exactly) the statistics are presenting
    • - Dividing up the data into logical groupings (paragraphs)
    • - Describing the data proficiently
  • Ensuring variety in grammatical structure
  • Writing Task 1: Describing statistics (under IELTS test conditions)

Phase 3, Lesson 1:   IELTS Topic exploration

  • IELTS Essay Writing Guide
  • Review Model IELTS Essays for each of the 3 Essay Question types
  • Understanding how any writing (Report or Essay) contains ‘Packaging and Content’
  • Paraphrasing the Essay Q into the Essay Topic sentence and again into the Topic restatement
  • Composing the Introduction and Conclusion to an Essay

Phase 3, Lessons 2 to 6:   IELTS Topic exploration and composition

For lessons 2 to 6 the format of the lesson is the same but for each lesson the learning theme will be different in order that the students will have the opportunity to explore and practice writing about the most common IELTS writing task 2 topics
